False Start

Some words on judgement.

The whole time I've been in this band I havn't spoken much about my personal beliefs. I want to start this blog by saying in no Way is this me "preaching" or trying to make people think the same Way as myself. This is simply me sharing my thoughts on some issues in the world and what im feeling at the moment.

So some people have wondered if we are a christian band. I have always been a believer and my faith has always meant a great deal to me. I consider myself a christian. I have choosen for the most part of being in this band not to write lyrics specifically based on my personal beliefs until through the looking glass where there were a few songs I wrote that reference to different issues regarding my views and beliefs.

At some point in our lives we will all feel judged by someone or by a group of people.

Our band has always caused a great amount of opinion be it negative or positive. Many people have opinions about us many which are unfounded as they have never actually taken the time to speak to us at all.

It seems that some people have the opinion that we shouldn't play a christian festival or show because we are not a christian band, but they have never actually taken the time to talk to us individually about what we believe.

Every member of false start has their own personal belief in God in different ways. I believe in Jesus Christ and that he is the son of God. We as people all make mistakes in life. I've done things in my life that im not always proud of, I've made mistakes as we all have but I try each day to be a better person. I've learnt a heck of a lot in the past 3 years than I have in my entire life and its due to this band. My personal beliefs are strong and although sometimes my views may differ from other peoples I still think that I deserve to be looked at just like everyone else in this world. A human being who makes mistakes and is trying to do his best.

To me the most important aspect of Jesus is the love he showed. Jesus befriended anyone no matter who they were and what they had done in their lives.

This is something we could all learn from. To many people are caught up in the rules of their beliefs that they miss the most important aspects of Jesus Christ's teachings. I understand that to follow Jesus you must live a certain Way but....

people make mistakes, people are not perfect and it is never our right or place to judge others.

It's time we stopped judging people because of their personal choices. We should be there for one another to help each other through hard times and to figure out how to navigate our Way through this crazy world.

Just because someone is attracted to someone of the same sex does not give us the right to judge that person instead we should love them unconditionally because they are a person in this world just like us and they have a mother and father just like us-we are all the same! Even if you dont agree with someones actions it is not your place to make them feel like they are not an important part of this world.

We all have differences and this is what makes us unique. These differences are what makes this world and amazing place.

So I think the main reason I wrote this blog is just to try and open peoples minds and make them think a bit more before they judge other people. Look at yourself and see what you are doing to make this world a better place.

Just because you dont agree with someones lifestyle, religion or beliefs doesnt mean that you cant be friends with them. Just because someone has different beliefs to you doesnt no mean that they are "evil"

This band has given me the opportunity to meet some amazing people and make some amazing friends many who have completely different views to me but we still get along great and have had some amazing times!

Sometimes its important to listen to what other people have to say, and learn from them. Always stay true to what you believe but keep an open mind and dont judge other people just because they dont live the same lifestyle you do.

Respect everyone and their right to live how they want and their personal beliefs. The sooner we respect one another as human beings then this world will be closer to becoming a better place for all of us.

Keep following your dreams! And never let anyone tell you that you cant because dreams come true!

Love one another and keep it real.
